The violet chakra SAHASWARA I have framed in pine. All of the "Body Chakras" are framed in pine. I chose this wood because it reminds me of mortality, i.e., we will all end up in a metaphorical pine box. The fact that we all die makes us human. If we lived in this body forever, we would be something other than human. However, I have come to believe that we never indeed die. Our consciousness/energy/soul remains and inhabits another body when it is our time to return. I feel sure that I have been on this earth before. I remember playing the harp and being best friends with a white horse. I also remember living in rural Australia, losing my mother, and traveling on a steamship. Perhaps I have an overactive imagination, but these past life experiences make me not fear death. However, it makes me realize how important it is to live a life of purpose. Making this art that represents infinite energy is my purpose, and I think that I am brave to admit my spiritual beliefs. All part of my recovery from academia.
The 7th or crown chakra, SAHASWARA is at the top of the head. It is the union of mind, body, and spirit. Meditation on this chakra will bring you inner peace and transcendence.
